Step into History: Explore Buffalo's Oldest Public Museum Today

Founded in 1862, the Buffalo History Museum is a private, not-for-profit organization that provides a window into the past. As the oldest public museum in Buffalo, New York, the museum houses over 80,000 objects and 200,000 photos. The Buffalo History Museum has three galleries: the Native American Gallery, the Pioneer Gallery, and the State Court Gallery. Each gallery features a different focus on the region's history. In addition, the exhibit offers an interactive touchscreen display that encourages visitors to explore the symbolism behind quilts.
