Discover Explore & More: A Fun Museum for Buffalo Families

Located at 130 Main Rd, Buffalo, NY 14202. Explore & More is a fun new play-based destination for local families and visitors. This museum is a collaboration between public and private entities and is designed to engage children from birth to 12 years old in creative and educational experiences. It features a wide range of exhibits that focus on Buffalo culture, science, and art. The museum offers birthday parties, workshops, and programs for all ages.

The museum was founded in a 500-square-foot basement school room in East Aurora. The museum initially saw just over 1,000 visitors per year. It eventually grew into a 6,000 square-foot facility, which incorporated an all-volunteer staff. This year, Explore & More expanded to a new location and has received a few new exhibits. Currently, Explore & More has three educational studios and offers a variety of educational programming to children of all ages. Another new exhibit, "The Car Wash," is a "mock car wash" that is designed by the design team at Delta Sonic. The exhibit will offer a glimpse into the interworkings of a car wash, including the mechanics of the car and how water is reused. The exhibit is a great way for children to learn about water reuse and to discover how the car wash works. The interactive exhibit will be a favorite for kids of all ages.

3 Educational Studios Within The Museum

The museum is also home to three educational studios, including "The Art Studio," which is designed to encourage children to explore their creativity through play. Each studio is equipped with real-world tools to create art.  explore more

The new Explore & More Children's Museum at Canalside is a 43,000 square-foot facility that is expected to open in May. The new location features four floors of fun and hands-on educational experiences for children of all ages. The museum will include seven play zones, each themed around an educational concept. The new museum will also feature an exhibition about WNY's waterways, industries, and culture.

Explore & More is a nonprofit organization that was founded by a group of educators and parents who wanted to create a new play-based destination for Buffalo and Western New York families. The museum is a collaboration between BlueCross BlueShield of Western New York, the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, and local community partners.

The museum has also received a challenge grant in the form of a $6 million gift from the Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Foundation. This gift will help support the construction of the new children's museum. One half of the gift will be used to support the ongoing construction of the new building, while the other half will be allocated to an endowment fund to ensure the museum's sustainability in the long run.

The Museum has also received a variety of awards. It was chosen by the Building Owners and Managers Association of Buffalo (BOMA) as one of the top projects of the year. The museum also won the "Best in New York State" award for its exhibits, programs, and educational offerings.
